Our Finances & Accountability
Between 2017-2020 we have worked with 10,695,800 people in Zimbabwe, with over 1,000 grassroots groups and our partners, 80% of whom are women and children. For every dollar received, we spent more than two thirds on community resilience, child protection, development and campaigning programs in Zimbabwe and 3 other African countries.
Nearly 70% of every US dollar was used on improving women and children’s lives, on fighting inequality, to beat poverty, and on building a better future for all.
Total funds available 2020: USD762,544.74
Total expenditure 2017/2019: USD1,610,120.00

Our Commitment to Accountability
As an organization, we are committed to holding ourselves accountable and being transparent in all areas of our work; including to our funding partners and beneficiaries on how we spend money. It is only by reviewing our spending against results that we can learn and do even better in the future.
The organization operates according to a budget approved by its governing body and is guided by financial policies. We exercise adequate internal controls by employing qualified staff to deal with disbursements to avoid unauthorized payments.
The organization’s fundraising and funding partner information materials, funding partner communications, program reports and relevant financial statements, and audits provide evidence that funds raised and spent for a specific cause have been used to further that cause.
The organization’s annual, audited financial statements are produced by a certified public accountant; presented timeously (normally not later than 6 months after the end of the financial year) and in line with the organization’s written financial policy. We comply with nationally accepted accounting standards and legal requirements.
The organization incorporates appropriate monitoring and evaluation practices in all
relevant policies and systems establishing mutual accountability as part of its culture. We conduct regular and deliberate evaluative activities to examine progress on its goals and missions as stated in its budget and work plans, and to ensure adequate financial and human resources for monitoring and evaluation of future projects.
