Women’s Economic Empowerment
Our work enables more women to gain power in markets, participate in economic decision-making and influence, and benefit from improved economic systems and social norms that do not discriminate against women.
Empowering Women to end Poverty
Gender discrimination means that women have limited access to land and loans.
Women and girls are disproportionately affected by hunger. But due to the social and economic roles they play within communities, they are also crucial actors in the fight against food insecurity.
Women’s economic empowerment is a top priority in our work to reduce poverty. Collective action holds great promise for grassroots women whose primary livelihood is dependent on their ability to own and farm land and access markets.
This is why we work with grassroots women living in poverty and in the most isolated areas to help them build sustainable, climate-resilient livelihoods, allowing them to access sufficient food to support their families.
